1870, c. 123 repeals section 1 and enacts the following as a substitute therefor:

Appointment of
trustees.

SEC. 1. The county commissioners of Worcester
county, at their first meeting in the month of April in
each year, shall appoint three discreet persons, inhabi-
tants of said county, to be trustees of the poor of said
county.

BERLIN.
1870, c. 451 repeals section 3 of 1868, c. 424 [Sup. 1868, p. 392] and enacts the follow-
ing in lieu thereof:

3. The inhabitants of the town of Berlin, in Wor-
cester county, qualified to vote for members of the
house of delegates, and the inhabitants of Worcester
county qualified as aforesaid and owning real estate
within the corporate limits of said town, shall, on the
first Monday in May next, and on the first Monday in
May in every second year thereafter, between the hours
of two and five o'clock in the afternoon, elect by ballot
five persons of known integrity, owners of real estate
in said town and residents therein for at least two years
immediately preceding their election, 'to be commission-
ers of the town of Berlin for two years from the day
of their election.

majority of them, may open, close, straighten or widen
streets across or through any yard, orchard or garden,
