RABBITS. '
1870, c. 271 adds the following:

212. No person shall trap, shoot or in any manner
catch or kill any rabbits in Prince George's county,
except between the fifteenth day of October and the
first day of February in each year.

213. Any person or persons so violating this law,
upon proof and conviction before a justice of the peace
of said county, shall pay a fine of five dollars, to be
collected by the usual process known to the justices of
the peace of the state, which fine, when collected, shall
be paid by the said justices to the county commission-
ers for Prince George's county.

214. All stationary or permanent weirs or hedges in
the Western branch of the Patuxent river, or on the
Eastern branch of the Potomac river and its tribu-
taries in Prince George's county, are declared nuis-
ances, and may be abated as such by any person.

215. If any person shall place or make any sta-
tionary or permanent weir or hedge in the said
branches or their tributaries, contrary to the provi-
sions of the preceding section, he shall forfeit the
sum of twenty-five dollars, to be recovered before
any justice of the peace of said county, one-half to
the informer or person who may sue for the same,
the other half to be paid to the justice of the peace,
and by him paid to the school commissioners of said
county for the use of the public school.

216. If any person shall fish any such weir or
hedge, he shall for every offence forfeit the sum of
fifteen dollars, to be recovered and applied as in the
preceding section.
