PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY. [ART. 16.

received or collected by him, the said commissions
being in full for services of said treasurer in the dis-
charge of his duties in said office, and the county com-
missioners shall levy an amount sufficient to pay the
commissions so allowed and the said treasurer shall be
allowed to retain in his returns to the county commis-
sioners his commissions on the amount as collected by
him, and upon a final settlement with the county com-
missioners for each current year, shall be entitled to be
paid by them the full commission that may be due to
him on the whole amount received or collected by him.

49. The county treasurer shall keep, in the court
house building in Upper Marlborough, his office open
from ten o'clock in the forenoon to three o'clock in the
afternoon, three days in each and every week, to [be]
by him designated, for the purpose of receiving county
taxes, disbursing same as directed by law, and shall

also attend in person or by deputy in each election dis-
trict of said county, two days between the date of each
annual levy and the first day of October thereafter, at
such places and times as he may appoint, for the pur-
pose of collecting said taxes; and 'he shall give notice
by advertisement in two of the county papers, and by
notice posted up at the public places in each district, in
hand-bill form, of the time and place where he will
be in each of said districts, for collecting and receiv-
ing the same, and also notifying all those who owe
county taxes that if they are paid to him on or before
the first day of July and the first day of October, they
will be entitled to a deduction of eight or five per
centum, according as they are paid on or before the
respective dates hereinbefore mentioned, and after the
treasurer has given the notice by public advertise-
ment, as directed by this section, and complied with
the provisions of this act, all those who fail [to] pay
their county taxes on or before the said taxes are due
and in arrear, as prescribed by this act, it shall only be
necessary for him, after obtaining the order from the
county commissioners authorizing him to sell real or
personal property, to proceed without further notice, to
