on his premises, in some conspicuous place, a copy of
the aforegoing sections, printed in large type, and his

Harford County.

ALMSHOUSE.
1870, c. 369, entitled an act to authorize the county commissioners of Harford county
to sell a part of the poor-house farm, and to erect suitable buildings for the use of
the paupers of said county, and to levy a sum of money for that purpose, enacts as
follows:
1. That the county commissioners of Harford county are authorized and em-
powered in their discretion, to sell, either at private or public sale, either in the
whole or in lots or parcels, as they in their judgment may deem best for the interest
of the county, and upon such terms as they may deem most expedient, all that part
of the land or farm situated in Harford county, called or known as the almshouse or
poor-house farm of Harford county, which lies on the northern side of the public
road which leads from Walter's mill to the Harford turnpike. And the said county
commissioners are empowered, upon the payment of the purchase money, to convey
by deed to the purchaser or purchasers of said land, the entire interest of Harford
county in and to the same, provided, that nothing in this act contained shall be con-
strued to compel the said county commissioners to sell the land, they are herein
authorized and empowered to sell, but they are to sell only in their discretion.
2. That the said county commissioners are also authorized and empowered to ex-
pend, in a judicious manner, the proceeds of the sales of the land which they are
herein authorized and empowered to sell, in the erection of suitable buildings on or
near the present site of the almshouse of Harford county for the use and accommo-
dation of the paupers of said county, and in their discretion to levy at their next
annual levy, twenty-five hundred dollars on the assessable property of Harford
county, to be expended by said commissioners in addition to the proceeds of the
sales of the land they are herein authorized and empowered to sell in the erection of
said almshouse buildings
3. That the said county commissioners are authorized to enter into any con-
tracts, and enforce the same that may be necessary to carry out the purpose of
this act.
