ART. 4. ] CITY OP BALTIMORE.
eastern hay scales at Canton, in the city of Baltimore,

shall not be chargeable with the payment of a tax of
fifty dollars for his commission, as required by the act
passed at December session, eighteen hundred and
sixty-two, chapter two hundred and eighty-two, sec-
tion one, but shall be chargeable with and pay to the
clerk from whom he received his commission, the sum
of ten dollars and no more.

LIVE STOCK.

1870, c. 262, entitled an act providing for the erection of an additional live stock
scale, and appropriating a sum of money therefor, enacts as follows:

1. That the state weigher of live stock is authorized to have erected an additional
live stock scale, with a house to be used as an office, and to be attached thereto, the
said scale and house to be erected on the property belonging to the state of Mary-
land, now used as a live stock yard.

2. That the sum of two thousand and two hundred dollars, or so much thereof as may
be necessary, is appropriated for the purpose of carrying into effect the provisions
of this act, and the comptroller is authorized to draw his warrant upon the treas-
urer for such sum, payable to the order of the weigher of live stock, on his certificate
under oath, that the accounts presented for payment, are correct

Approved and in force April 4, 1870.

TOBACCO.

1870, c. 291 repeals section 535 [Sup. 1861-7, p. 439] and enacts the following in lieu

thereof:

535. After the passage of this act it shall not be law-
ful to carry out of this state, in hogsheads, any tobacco
raised in this state, except in hogsheads which shall
have been inspected, passed and marked agreeably to
the provisions of this act, unless such tobacco shall
have been inspected and passed before this act goes
into operation; and any person violating the provi-
sions of this section shall forfeit and pay the sum of
three hundred dollars, which may be recovered in any
