the owner or owners who may establish his or their
claim to said property; and in the event of no such
claimant appearing within thirty days, then the bal-
ance, after deducting costs, shall be paid into the school
fund of Baltimore county.

ROADS.

1870, e 309 repeals sections 149, 150, 151, 152, 153, 154, 155, 156 and 157 of this arti-
cle, and sub-sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7, and section 3 of the act of 1868, c. 411,
[Sup. 1868, p. 266] and adds the following sections, and repeals all acts or parts of
acts inconsistent herewith, relating to roads and bridges in Baltimore county:

219. The county, commissioners of Baltimore county
shall, within thirty days after the passage of this act,
appoint, for each election district of Baltimore county,
three competent and trustworthy persons, residents of
said district, to act as road supervisors of that district

for the term of two years, computing from the first
day of January, eighteen hundred and seventy, or until
their successors are appointed, and they shall make like
appointments at their first meeting in January of every
second year thereafter.

220. The supervisors thus appointed in each district
shall constitute a board, one of whom shall be desig-
nated by the county commissioners as chairman of said
board, and the chairman of each board shall give bond
to the county commissioners in the sum of five hun-
dred dollars for the faithful discharge of the duties of
his office.

221. He shall keep a record of all work and other
transactions pertaining to the roads in his district, and
shall furnish to the county commissioners on the first
Tuesday of each month a statement of the amount of
labor performed or materials furnished, the cost of the
same, and to whom due, and said statement shall em-
brace, as near as possible, the entire expenses of his
district for the month just ended.
