Proviso.

missioners aforesaid ; provided, also, that if in any
county the schools shall be kept open less than seven
and half months of the year ending December thirty-
first, the comptroller hold from such county, the April
instalment of the state school tax.

Abatements.

7. When the levy of any year shall have been col-
lected, the comptroller shall apportion among the sev-
eral counties and the city of Baltimore, the amount
allowed on the levy for: insolvencies and abatements,
and shall transmit a statement of the same to the board
of state school commissioners.
MISCELLANEOUS.

SEC. 1. The present board of county school commis-
sioners shall serve out the full term for which they
were severally elected, unless now or hereafter dis-
qualified under the provisions of this act, and shall
continue to receive three dollars per day, for each and
every day they may deem it necessary to meet, to

2. Schools on or near the dividing line of two coun-
ties, shall be free to the children of each county, and
the board of county school commissioners of the respec-
tive counties shall have power to provide jointly for
the maintenance of said school.

1870, c. 78 repeals section 3 of the act of 1868, c. 183, [Sup. 1868, p. 202,] and re-
enacts said section to read as follows:
3. That the said five hundred dollars herein restored to the Harford county acad-
emy, and which was heretofore paid annually, shall be paid to the said academy in
semi-annual payments of two hundred and fifty dollars each, out of the academy
fund of Harford county; and the said sums of two hundred and fifty dollars and
one hundred and fifty dollars, mentioned in the second section of this act as belong-
