1870, c. 311 repeals 1868, c. 407 [Sup. 1868, p. 176] and all the sections of the several
articles of the, code of public general laws relating to schools, inconsistent with the
provisions of this act, and all acts of assembly passed since the adoption of said
volumes of the code, relating to schools, inconsistent with the provisions of this
. act, and re-enacts 1868, c. 407 na given below: It further enacts that there shall
be throughout the state of Maryland a general system of free public schools,
according to the provisions of this act, and also provides that this act shall be
added to the code of public general laws, under the title "Public Education," and
repeals all existing laws inconsistent herewith.
