1868, c. 451 repeals section 20 [Sup. 383] and re-enacts the same as follows:

SEC. 20. The city council of Baltimore shall meet
on the first Monday of November of each and every
year, and may continue in session for one hundred and

the same may be held continuously or otherwise; and
provided further, that the mayor may convene the said
city council in extra session as he may now do by
virtue of the 4th section of the llth article of the con-

stitution; and provided further, that the city council of
Baltimore shall not sit during the present year, ending
October 30th, 1868, for more than one hundred and
twenty days, including the days of the extra sessions of
1867, and the present regular sessions, unless convened
in extra session, as aforesaid, by the mayor.

26. All persons holding office under the corporation
of the city shall, unless a different term of holding be
provided by law or ordinance, hold such office at the

Commission,

pleasure of the mayor, and the issuing of a commis-
sion by the mayor to any person as an officer of said
corporation shall be evidence prima facie in any court
in this state of the regularity and sufficiency of the
appointment and qualifications of such person as such
officer.
