That instead of the usual mode of selecting an annual board of trustees, the present
trustees, and their successors, constitute a permanent board of trustees, with power
to fill all vacancies that may occur by death, resignation or removal from the city.
That all acts or parts of acts in relation to the Baltimore female college, incon-
sistent with this act be, and the same are hereby repealed.
In force and approved March 30,1868.
1868, c. 234 enacts that the annual donation of five hundred dollars be, and the
same is hereby restored to the West Nottingham academy in Cecil county, to be
paid out of the free school fund of said county.
That the treasurer of the state of Maryland is hereby authorized, empowered and
directed to retain the sum of five hundred dollars out of the free school fund of
Cecil county, and pay over the sum of five hundred dollars to the treasurer of the
said academy, or to any other person properly authorized to receive the same, on
the first day of October in each year, beginning with October 1, 1868.
That all laws and parts of laws inconsistent with the provisions of this act be,
and the same are hereby repealed.
In force and approved March 28, 1868.
1868, c. 307 incorporates a college or general seminary of learning, near Westmin-
ster, in Carroll county, by the name of the Western Maryland College.
