city of Baltimore, with the clerk of the superior
court of Baltimore city, a copy of the article of asso-
ciation of such corporation, signed by at least seven
members, and certified by the secretary thereof, to
be recorded in the office of such clerk, and any addi-
tion, alteration or amendment of the article of asso-
ciation of any such corporation shall be signed, cer-
tified and recorded in the same manner; but any
such association which has lodged a copy of its arti-
cles of association with the clerk of the circuit court
for the county, or the superior court of the city of
Baltimore, since April the thirteenth, eighteen hun-
dred and fifty-two, in which the names of at least
seven members are printed or written, either before
or after said articles of association, shall be, and is
hereby declared a corporation, with all the privileges
herein granted, from the date of filing said article of
association as aforesaid.

68. The provisions of this article from section
forty to section sixty-seven, both inclusive, shall
extend and be applicable to all cases where five or
more persons, some of whom are citizens of this
state, may desire to form a company for the purpose
of carrying on any kind of mining business; pro-

vided, that no company .incorporated under this sec-
tion, shall hold more than five thousand -acres of
land at any one time, and the capital stock of such
company shall not exceed the sum of two million of
dollars; and provided, also, that the number of trus-
tees, directors or managers of such company shall
not be less than four, or more than sixteen, and that
lands and leases on lands, as well as money, may be
considered as payment in full or as any part of the
