360 BALTIMORE COUNTY. [ART. 3.

collection district; the fifth and sixth election dis-
tricts shall compose the fifth collection district; the
seventh election district shall compose the sixth col-
lection district; the eighth election district shall
compose the seventh collection district; the ninth
election district shall compose the eighth collection
district; the tenth election district shall compose the
ninth collection district; the eleventh election dis-
trict shall compose the tenth collection district; the
twelfth election district shall compose the eleventh
collection district.

1865, c. 102 repeals section 56, as amended by 1862, c. 159, s. 3 and substitutes the

following:

or collectors.

56. The county commissioners for Baltimore
county are hereby authorized and required to ap-
point eleven collectors on or before the first Tues-
day of May, eighteen hundred and sixty-five, and
biennially thereafter, who shall hold their office for
two years for the collection of state and county
taxes, one for each of the collection districts as
composed in the second section of the act of eigh-
teen hundred and sixty-two, chapter one hundred
and fifty-nine, and said collectors shall each give a

bond, annually to the state of Maryland, in the full
sum of state taxes placed in their hands respectively
for collection, and also a bond to the state of Mary-
land, for the use of the county commissioners, in the
full sum of county taxes placed in their hands respec-
tively for collection, said bonds to be approved by
the county commissioners for said county, and to be
given within ten days from the date of appointment,
and upon failure to do so, the county commissioners
to appoint a successor.

In force from March 7, 1805.

NOTE—1966, c 96, B 2, also repeals section 56 as amended by 1802, c 160, s 3 and enacts the
same words as 1865, c 102, with the difference, that "first Tuesday in March," is used instead
/ of " first Tuesday of May."
