of their respective counties, the same being in addi-
tion to the sum now received by said counties for
school purposes, to wit; to Allegany county, Balti-
more county, Carroll county, Calvert county, Cecil
county, Caroline county, Charles county, St. Mary's
county, Harford county, Howard county, Prince
George's county, Queen Anne's county, Somerset
county, Talbot county, Worcester county and Wash-
ington county, each the aforesaid sum of four hun-
dred dollars.

In force from March 1, 1884.
NOTE —For the appropriation to St. John's College, see the act of 1800, c. 101.

1866, c. 139 enacts the following:

153. The judges of the orphans' courts in the sev-
eral counties who had charge of the free school fund,
are hereby authorised to pay out of any money in
their hands belonging to the said fund, to the pres-
ent registers of wills, or the late registers of wills
under the constitution of eighteen hundred and fifty-
one, for their services, a reasonable compensation
in preserving and keeping the school fund from
eighteen hundred and fifty-one to the present time.
