LICENSES.

1S62, c. 216 amends and re-enacts section 1 as follows :

 

SEC. 1. All licenses shall be granted by the clerks
of the circuit courts of the counties and the clerk of
the court of common pleas in the city of Baltimore,
except where a different mode is specially provided ;
and all licenses granted by the said clerks shall
expire on the first day of May next thereafter, except
licenses for fisheries and horse races ; and if granted
for part of a year, a rateable sum shall be charged
therefor.

In force from March 10, 1862.
1862, c. 121 adds the following:

2. Any license may be obtained by partnerships
or firms, as well as by individuals; but in all such
cases, the names of all the partners of any firm shall
be set forth in full in the license, and no license shall
protect any person pretending to act under the same,
unless he is named therein, or is entitled as a repre-
