FEES OF OFFICERS. [ART. 38.
any of the courts of this state of original jurisdiction,
five dollars ; for prosecuting or defending any cause,
plaint or action in any of the courts of equity in this
state, ten dollars ; for prosecuting or defending any
cause in any of the orphans' courts in this state, ten
dollars; for prosecuting or defending any cause in
the court of appeals, ten dollars; for prosecuting or
defending in any criminal cases in any of the courts
of this state having criminal jurisdiction where the
punishment for the offence charged is death or con-
finement in the penitentiary, ten dollars; in all
other criminal cases, three dollars and thirty-three
cents.

all sections of the public local laws, inconsistent with its provisions.

10. Every bailiff attending the circuit courts in the
counties in this state shall be entitled to the sum of
two dollars and fifty cents for each day he shall
attend the said courts, and upon the certificate of the
clerks of said courts stating the number of days that
the said bailiffs have attended the said courts, the
county commissioners of the several .counties shall
levy for the use of the said bailiffs the amounts that
may be due them. The provisions of this act shall
apply to Baltimore county.
