obstruction to travel, and these taxes shall be collected in man-
ner provided for in the subsequent sections of this article.

S. In all cases where new roads are laid down, and an appro-
priation made by the county commissioners to pay the cost of
fencing on both sides of said road, or on one side when there is
already a fence on the other, there shall be no gate allowed on
said new road.

Somerset County.

RETAILERS.

Chapter 60 repeals sections 139, 140, 141, 142, 143, 144, 145, 146, 147, 148.
In force from March 18, 1865.

SHERIFF.

Chapter 108 repeals section 199, and enacts the following in lieu thereof:

The sheriff of Somerset county shall be entitled to the sum of
forty cents per day for keeping and boarding each prisoner com-
mitted to the jail of said county.

In force from March 23, 1865.
