ALMSHOUSE.

Chapter 320 adds the following :

SEC. 1. The county commissioners of Dorchester county are
hereby empowered to cause to be built, an addition to the alms-
house of said county, and to levy an assessment on the taxable
property of said cpunty to pay for the same.

In force from March 7, 1864

ELECTIONS.

Chapter 60 enacts as follows :

2. All that part of Number Ten or Straight's district, lying
south of Hooper's Straights, in Dorchester county, shall compose
one district, called Fourteen, or Holland's Island district, the
polls to be held at Thomas Park's.

In force from January 25, 1S64.


JUSTICES OF THE PEACE.

Chapter 12 adds the following to Section 124, (I. Supplement, 76:)

3. In addition to the justices of the peace heretofore author-
ized by law in election district number seven, wherein the town
of Cambridge is situated, there shall be one additional justice of
the peace appointed by the Governor, who shall hold his office
until the next regular election in this State.

4. At the next regular election, and at every regular election
thereafter, there shall be chosen by the qualified voters of dis-
trict number seven, four justices of the peace, two of which shall
be residents of the town of Cambridge.
