paved, ratably according to the number of front feet they may
respectively own on. such portion 'to be paved as aforesaid.

ROADS.
Chapter 98 adds the following Section.
12. No person shall fire any gun, pistol or firelock of any
kind, on or within twenty yards of any public road, street,
bridge, causeway or highway in Cecil county, under a penalty
of not less than five nor more than twenty dollars, to be re-
covered in the same manner as prescribed in section one hun-
dred and seventy-seven of this Article.

SCHOOLS.
Chapter 186 repeals Sections 197, 203, 207, and enacts the following Sections in lieu
thereof-
13. All powers, rights, and privileges lawfully exercised by
any Board of Commissioners, any Judges of Orphans' Courts,
any trustees of primary schools, or any other person or persons,
by whatever name designated, by virtue of any act or acts of the
General Assembly of Maryland, passed in relation to public,
primary or free schools, and all moneys, property, estates and
effects heretofore vested by law in any of the said parties here-
tofore mentioned, respectively, for the use and benefit of said
schools, or any of them, and all rights to. and interests in all
funds of whatever kind dedicated to the support of said schools,
or any of them, and by law made payable to any of the parties
hereinbefore mentioned, are transferred and vested in the board
of commissioners of public schools of Cecil county.
14. The board of commissioners of public schools shall estab-
lish at least three high schools or academies, in Cecil county, to
be located as follows: One at Elkton, one at Port Deposit, and
one at Rising Sun, in said county, and whenever they shall
deem proper, at such other places in said county, as they may
