JUSTICES OP THE PEACE.

Chapter 317 adds the following :

2. When any justice of the peace shall resign, or be removed
from office, he shall deliver his docket together with all notes,
bonds, accounts, and papers, in his possession appertaining to
judgments, or suits entered thereon, to his successor in office,
within thirty days after such resignation, or removal; if any
justice dies, the delivery aforesaid, shall be made by his adminis-
trator, or other person in whose hands the said docket and
papers may be, or come, within thirty days after receiving them.

ORPHANS' COURT.

Chapter 229 repeals Section 149, and enacts as follows :

3. The judges of the Orphans' Court of Caroline county, shall
each receive two dollars and fifty cents per day for each day's
attendance, and five cents a mile for every mile that his place
of residence is distant from Denton, but such mileage shall not
be computed for returning home.

ROADS.
Chapter 178 amends and re-enacts Section 153, as follows:

4. The rates of compensation for labor on the public roads for
Caroline county, shall be for every able bodied hand the sum of
one dollar per day; for every cart and team, the sum of one dol-
lar and thirty cents per day.
