ORPHANS' COURT.
Chapter 286 amends and re-enacts Section 604, as follows
90. Each Judge of the Orphans' Court of the city of Balti-
more, shall receive a per diem of four dollars for the time the
said court is in session, to be paid to them by the register of
the city, on the first day of each month.

POLICE.
Chapter 9.3 amends and re-enacts Sections 811, 812, as follows, (I. Supplement 48 )
91. The pay of an ordinary policeman shall be fourteen dol-
lars a week, payable semi monthly; and in case the board shall
appoint detective policemen, which they may do to the number
of five, the detectives shall receive the sum of fifteen dollars a
week, payable semi-monthly.

92. The officers of police shall be paid semi-monthly, and
their pay shall be as follows : The marshal shall receive seven-
teen hundred dollars a year, the deputy marshal shall receive
twelve hundred dollars a year; each captain, twenty dollars a
week; each lieutenant, sixteen dollars and fifty cents a week;
each sergeant, fifteen dollars a week, and each turnkey, twelve
dollars a week.
In force from February 17, 1864
Chapter 42 adds the following
93. It shall be the duty of the chief marshal of police of Bal-
timore city to return to the clerk of the Criminal Court of Bal-
timore city, on the morning of each day, (except Sunday,) a re-
port showing the number of persons committed or confined in
the several station houses of said city, for any felony or mis-
demeanor, the cause of their commitment or confinement, and
how many, if any, were released, and by whom, and if any trial
was had, before whom .the same was had, and the names of the
witnesses, if any, examined or present at the trial, and the place
of their residence, and if any fine or costs was imposed, how
