said city.

OYSTERS.
Chapter 368 amends and re-enacts Section 494, as follows:
34. All oysters carried to the city of Baltimore for sale, shall
be sold by the sealed half bushel, or sealed bushel aud half
measure, and each and every person offending against the pro-
visions of this section shall be subject to a fine of fifty dollars
for each and every offence, to be recovered before a justice of
the peace of the city of Baltimore, by action of; debt in the name
of the State of Maryland, one-half to the informer, and the other
half to the use of the State.

TOBACCO.
Chapter 346 repeals Sections from Section 494 to Section 552, and enacts the follow-
ing in lieu thereof:
85. The Governor, by and with the advice of the Senate, shall
appoint as soon as possible after the passage of this act, and
before the first Monday of February, at each regular session of
the General Assembly thereafter, five tobacco inspectors, one for
each State Tobacco Warehouse in the city of Baltimore, whose
terms of office shall respectively continue until their successors
shall qualify; provided, that the successors of the present Gover-
nor, in appointing inspectors, as afore&aid, shall select four of
them from the tobacco growing counties of the State; no two of
whom shall be selected from the same county.
36. Each of said tobacco inspectors before proceeding to act,
shall take and subscribe before the clerk of the Superior Court
of Baltimore city, an oath or affirmation that he will faithfully
to the best of his ability without fear, favor or partiality, dis-
charge all the duties of tobacco inspector, and shall also give
bond to the State of Maryland, in the penalty of thirty thousand
dollars, with at least two securilies to be executed in the
