pro rata, and for indexing three-fourtbs of the amount, instead
of the full amount, now allowed by law for similar service, and
such payments shall be made as hereinbefore provided for.

29. The expenses allowed to the commissioner appointed by
this act, shall not be more tban ($5) five dollars per diem, to be
paid to him by the County Commissioners of said county,
monthly, upon the certificate of the clerk of the said commis-
sioner, made under oath, as to the number of days which the
said commissioner shall have attended, and the compensation
of the clerk shall be ($3 50) three dollars and fifty cents per
diem, to be paid in like manner, upon the certificate of the com-
missioner of the number of days of his employment or actual
service.

30. In the event of the death, resignation or disability of the
commissioner, the County Commissioners shall fill such vacancy
at the next regular meeting, after they have been informed of
such vacancy.

31. All expenses, not herein specially enumerated, incidental
to the commissioner hereby created, shall be certified to the
County Commissioners, with proper vouchers, who shall pay
the same ; and for the purpose of providing the means of carrying
out the provisions of this act, the said County Commissioners
are hereby authorized and required to levy upon the taxable
property of Baltimore county, to be included in the levy for
eighteen hundred and sixty-four, the sum of three thousand
dollars, which sum is hereby appropriated to that object; pro-
vided, nevertheless, that if the said sum of three thousand dollars
should not be required to complete the work for which this
commission was made, so much thereof as shall remain un-
expended shall be carried to the credit of the school fund for
Baltimore county.

32. The commissioner hereby appointed shall meet from day
to day; provided, however, that the whole time occupied by the
said commissioner in the discharge of the duties provided for
by this act shall not exceed three hundred days.
