38 JURIES. ' [ART. 50.
of the Superior Court for Baltimore city, on or before the said
first day of May, and the said clerk shall mark on the same
the day on which the same was received by him; and if the
said president, vice president, visitors and physicians, or any of
them, shall neglect or refuse so to file said oath, taken, sub-
scribed and attested as aforesaid with the said clerk on or be-
fore said day, the office of the person so neglecting or refusing
shall be ipso facto vacant, and the same shall be filled as provided
for by section four of this Article and for the purpose of so fill-
ing any vacancy or vacancies so caused; three members of the
Board shall constitute a quorum, and if said vacancy or vacan-
cies shall not be so filled by the visitors by the fifteenth day of
May, eighteen hundred and sixty-four, the Governor shall fill
the same.
2. The president, vice president, visitors and physicians who
may be hereafter elected or appointed shall take, subscribe and
file said oath, before they proceed to exercise any of the func-
tions of their office or appointment; and the clerk of the Supe-
rior Court shall communicate to the Governor the names of all
the officers of said Hospital, who shall file said oath, and the
date at which it was filed.

Juries.
Chapter 282 adds the following section:
SEC. 1. All grand jurors shall before being empaneled on the
grand jury, and all petit jurors shall before being empaneled on
any jury, take the following oath of allegiance, to be adminis-
tered in open court as other oaths are administered: I do swear
(or affirm) that I will bear true allegiance to the United States
and support the constitution and laws thereof; any law of ordi-
nance of any State to the contrary notwithstanding; and that I
will duly execute all laws of the State of Maryland punishing
