64 PRIVATE ACTS—CHARTERS.
PIPE CREEK BENEVOLENT SOCIETY.

AN ACT to continue the charter of the Pipe Creek Benevolent Society.

SECTION 1, Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That an act entitled, An act to incorporate the Pipe Creek Benevolent
Society, passed December session eighteen hundred and forty-three, and
the supplements thereto passed December sessions eighteen hundred
and forty-four and eighteen hundred and forty-nine, be and the same
are hereby continued in force until the first day of January eighteen
hundred and ninety, and to the end of the next session of the General
Assembly thereafter; the Legislature hereby reserving the right to
alter, amend or repeal the charter hereby extended at pleasure.

SEC 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from the
date of its passage.

POCOMOKE RIVER.

AIT ACT to amend an act entitled, a further supplement to the act passed at Janu-
ary session eighteen hundred and sixty, chapter one hundred and ninety-six,
changing the Commissioners appointed by the act of eighteen hundred and fifty-
eight, chapter one hundred and seventy-eight, for clearing out Pocomoke River.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Zadok P. Henry, Senior, James Whaley, John E. M. Marshall,
Joseph Donaway, and Littleton R. Truitt, be and they are hereby ap-
pointed Commissioners, in the place of those mentioned in the act of
eighteen hundred and sixty, chapter one hundred and ninety-six, and
that the said Commissioners hereby appointed, or a majority of them.
have full power and authority to expend all money which has been or
may be raised under and in virtue, of the said act, in carrying out the
original design of the said act of eighteen hundred and forty, chapter
two hundred and fifteen.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the Commissioners now acting as
aforesaid, by virtue of their appointment under the act of eighteen
hundred and sixty, chapter one hundred and ninety-six, shall pay and
deliver over, on demand, to the Commissioners named in the pre-
ceding section, all money and property in their hands, as Commis-
sioners, and upon failure thereof, the Commissioners herein named may
sue for and recover the same.

SEC 3. And be it enacted, That if any of the Commissioners herein
named, shall die, resign, or refuse to act, or remove from Worcester
county, the remaining Commissioners shall appoint a Commissioner in
his place, so as to keep up the number of five Commissioners, and the
said Commissioners so appointed, or their successors, shall have and
exercise all the powers conferred by this act.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from the
date of its passage.
