JUSTICES OF THE PEACE AND CONSTABLES.
The Act of 1862, ch. 135, adds the following section to this article, to follow section 50:
SEC. 1. The several constables in Charles county may charge
and receive the following fees for such services as are herein
specified: for serving State's warrant and return, forty cents; for
serving summonses in civil suit and return, forty cents; for levy-
ing fieri facias and return, forty cents; for dispersing tumultuous
meetings of negroes per year, such sum as the county commis-
sioners may allow, not exceeding sixteen dollars; provided, that
no allowance for such service shall be allowed by said commis-
sioners, unless they are satisfied that such service has been per-
formed.
SCHOOLS.
The Act of 1862, ch. 84, adds the following:
2. All sums of money receivable and applicable to the pri-
mary schools of Charles county shall hereafter be disbursed
under the direction of the school commissioners of said county,
and all checks or orders hereafter drawn by said commissioners
shall be countersigned by the register of Wills of said county,
for which the said register shall receive the sum of ten cents,
to be paid by the applicant therefor, for every such order or
draft drawn by said commissioners and signed by him.
