14 BALTIMORE COUNTY. [ART. 3.

3. Any person on whose premises the said horses, cattle, sheep
or hogs shall trespass, when so permitted to go at large, may im-
pound the same, and the owners thereof, on reclaiming the same,
shall pay all disputes between the owner or owners of any horse,
cattle, sleep or hogs, and the person or persons so impounding
the said horse, cattle, hog or sheep, shall, on the application of
either party, and on notice to the opposite party, be determined
by a justice of the peace of the city of Annapolis, or of Anne
Arundel county, who may summon and examine witnesses to
enable him to decide the matter in controversy.
