ARTICLE LII.

Keeper of Chancery Records.

The Act of 1862, ch. 208, repeals sections 1, 2, 7, of Article 52, and enacts the follow-
ing as substitutes:

SEC. 1. The Commissioner of the Land Office, shall have charge
of the Records of the Court of Chancery, and the anti-revolution
papers now in the Chancery Office, and shall discharge the duties
hereinafter specified.

2. He shall, for the performance of said duties, receive the sum
of five hundred dollars per annum, payable quarterly out of the
Treasury.

ARTICLE LIV.

Land Office.

The Act of May 1, 1861, ch 3, repeals sections 17, 19, 26, 27 and 29 of this Article,
and enacts the following as substitutes:

SEC. 1. Any person desiring to take up vacant land or lands
which has escheated, shall obtain a warrant from the Commis-
sioner of the Land Office, directed to the surveyor of the county
where the land lies, requiring him to survey the same, and return
a certificate or survey to the Land Office within one year from
the date of the warrant and such warrant may be in the form
heretofore used in the Land Office, and may be either a common
warrant, a special warrant, a warrant of re-survey, a proclamation
warrant or a escheat warrant whichever may be suited to the
case of the party applying for the same.

2. Any person may obtain a common warrant, special warrant
or proclamation warrant by applying to the. Commissioner of the
Land Office, and paying him (unless the land lies in Allegany or
Washington counties) the sum of twenty-five cents per acre for
each acre mentioned in such warrant, and if the land lies in Al-
