plane coordinate system now being developed in Maryland, for engineering
projects, for municipal and county boundaries and for private property
surveys.

agencies and to establish a Library of Maps and Charts of the State.

or any portion thereof; to retail standard maps such as are in general de-
mand; and, to a limited extent, reproduce maps for a reasonable charge.

(9) To serve annually as a central meeting point for representatives
of Maryland map making organizations to discuss, coordinate and plan
for mapping of the State; to direct the trend of surveys and maps of the
State; and to advocate consolidation of State mapping bureaus to promote
efficiency.

(10) To promote the continuation and completion of the local control
surveys begun in Maryland under the C. W. A.; to serve as the coordinat-
ing agency for any program of mapping launched by the Federal govern-
ment: and to determine priorities.

1939, ch. 628, sec. 40.

40. The Department of Public Works is hereby authorized to expend
annually from its budget such funds as may be necessary to conduct the
work herein authorized as determined by the Advisory Board of the Bureau
of Control Surveys and Maps.

1939, ch. 628, sec. 41.

41. The Bureau of Control Surveys and Maps with the Advisory Board
is authorized to employ such engineers, surveyors, clerical and other as-
sistants and make such other expenditures as may be necessary to satis-
factorily carry out the purposes of this sub-title.
