"Disabled Firemen's List," and the widow shall be entitled to receive a
pension from the Maryland State Firemen's Association in a sum, the
amount of which shall be decided upon by the Board of Trustees of the
Maryland State Firemen's Association, and to be paid out of its treasury
at such times and in such instalments and in such amount as the said
Board of Trustees of the Maryland State Firemen's Association may de-
cide, during widowhood, and each of the children of the said deceased
fireman shall receive a pension from the Maryland State Firemen's Asso-
ciation in a sum the amount of which shall be decided upon by the Board
of Trustees of the Maryland State Firemen's Association and to be paid
out of its treasury at such times and in such instalments and in such amount
as the said Board of Trustees of the Maryland State Firemen's Associa-
tion may decide, until they each attain the age of seventeen years.

34. The sum of twenty thousand three hundred and twenty-one
($20,321.00) dollars shall be included in the State Budget each year for
the purposes set forth in Sections 32, 33 and 35 of this Article. Such sums
shall be administered and expended by the Board of Trustees of the Mary-
land State Firemen's Association.

35. Any child or children of permanently disabled or deceased volun-
teer fireman whose disability or death has been caused by an accident re-
sulting from active participation in fighting a fire or while going to and
from a fire, after having graduated from an accredited high school, shall
have the right and privilege of attending schools of higher education at the
expense of the Maryland State Firemen's Association, which shall be at
the discretion of the Board of Trustees of the said Maryland State Fire-
men's Association.

36. No part of the aforesaid appropriations shall be used by the Mary-
land State Firemen's Association for administrative costs.

37. (Definitions.) As used in this sub-title: "State Department"
means the "State Department of Public Welfare."
The term "Local Units" means the "County Welfare Boards" created
under Sections 12 and 13 of this Article, and the Department of Welfare of
Baltimore City.
"Dependent Child" means a needy child under the age of sixteen years
(a) w'ho has been deprived of parental support or care by reason of the
death, continued absence from the home, or physical or mental incapacity
of a parent, and (b) whose relatives liable under the law for his support
are not able to provide adequate care and support of such child, without
public assistance, and (c) who is living with his father, mother, grand-
father, grandmother, brother, sister, stepfather, stepmother, stepbrother,
or stepsister, uncle, or aunt, in a place of residence maintained by one or
more of such relatives as his or their own home. "Child" shall include
