LICENSES 2421

Storage Warehouses.

An. Code, 1924, sec. 240. 1912, sec. 178. 1916, ch. 704, sec. 178. 1920, ch. 504, sec. 178.

285. Every person, firm or corporation who shall keep for compensa-
tion any house for storage or impounding shall pay an annual sum for said
privilege by first taking out a license therefor, if such house be located in
Baltimore City, then in said city, if in the counties, then in the county in
which such house may be located, to be graduated as follows:

In cities not exceeding 10,000 inhabitants.................. $ 30.00

In cities exceeding 10,000 and not over 20,000 inhabitants... 50.00
In cities exceeding 20,000 and not more than 50,000 inhabi-
tants .................................................. 75.00

In cities exceeding 50,000 inhabitants..................... 150.00

Check Rooms.

286. Each person, firm or corporation, conducting a check room in
this State for the deposit of packages and baggage shall pay a privilege tax
for stall purposes, and before doing so, shall first take out a license there-
for, paying an annual license fee as follows:

First. Where the charge for the keep or deposit of any article
is at the rate of 10 cents or more for every twenty-four hours or
fraction thereof of storage, each, per annum.................. $ 40.00

Second. Where the charge for the keep or deposit of any arti-
cle is at the rate of less than 10 cents for every twenty-four hours
or fraction thereof of storage, each, per annum................ $ 20.00

Cleaning, Dyeing and Pressing.

An. Code, 1924, sec. 242. 1912, sec. 180. 1916, ch. 704, sec. 180.

287. Each person, firm or corporation, resident or non-resident con-
ducting the business of cleaning, dyeing and pressing in this State, when
done by steam, electric or other power than by hand, shall before doing
so, take out a license therefor, and shall pay an annual license fee therefor
as follows:

Establishments employing less than five persons.............. $ 5.00

Establishments employing not less than five persons and not
more than ten persons................................... $ 15.00

Establishments employing not less than ten persons and not
more than twenty persons.................................. $ 50.00

Establishments employing more than twenty persons......... $100.00

Shoe Shining Parlors and Hat Cleaning Establishments.

An. Code, 1924, see. 243. 1912, sec. 181. 1916, ch. 704, sec. 181.

288. Each person, firm or corporation conducting a shoe shining par-
lor, containing more than two chairs, or hat cleaning establishment, shall
before doing so, take out a license therefor, and shall for each place of
business, pay an annual license fee of $10.00.
