Cash Register and Adding Machine Companies.

265. Each person, firm or corporation, resident or non-resident, hav-
ing a place of business displaying cash registers or adding machines, or
samples, photographs or illustrations from which sales are made, shall
first obtain a license therefor, and shall pay an annual license fee of one
hundred dollars.
This section valid. One license fee only required to be paid by person maintaining
more than one place of business in state; contemporaneous construction and application.

Typewriting Machines.

266. Each person, firm or corporation, resident or non-resident, hav-
ing a place of business dealing exclusively in typewriters and typewriter
supplies or selling from samples, photographs or illustrations, shall first
obtain a license therefor, and shall pay an annual license fee of ten dollars.
Commercial, Mercantile and Mutual Protective Agencies.

267. E'ach person, firm, agency or corporation, resident, or non-resi-
dent, doing a commercial, mercantile or mutual protective agency business
in this State, shall before acting as such, first take out a license therefor,
by paying an annual license fee of one hundred dollars.
Intelligence Offices and Employment Agencies.

268. No person shall engage in business as an employment agent in
this State without having a license to engage in such business, in accord-
ance with the provisions of Sections 270 and 271.

269. The term "Employment Agent" as used in this sub-title shall
include any and all persons, firms and corporations engaged in the busi-
ness of furnishing information to persons seeking employment for .the
purpose of enabling any such person to secure the same, or engaged in
the business of soliciting employment for such persons by means of adver-
tising, personal solicitation, circulars, or otherwise, in consideration of
any fee or charge, paid or to be paid, for such information or solicitation
by persons seeking employment; provided, however, that the term employ-
ment agent shall not include any person employed in any employment
agency maintained by the State or by any city, county, or other political
sub-division thereof or by the Federal Government or any agency thereof;
and provided, further, that the term employment agent shall not in-
clude persons, firms or corporations engaged in conducting registries
by or for associations of registered nurses, or employment bureaus of reg-
istered medical institutions or hospitals, nor shall it apply to persons, firms
or corporations maintaining departments for the purpose of securing help
for themselves and charging no fee therefor nor to charitable agencies
maintaining employment offices.
