12. The assent of the State of Maryland is hereby given to the pro-
visions and requirements of the said Act of Congress, approved by the
President on the 22nd day of May, 1928, and the Board of Regents of
the University of Maryland are hereby designated, authorized and em-
powered to receive the grants of money appropriated under the said Act
of Congress, and are authorized and empowered to organize and conduct
agricultural extension work which shall be carried on in connection with
the College of Agriculture of said University in accordance with the terms
and conditions expressed in the Act of Congress aforesaid.
The Secretary of State of the State of Maryland is hereby directed to
transmit a certified copy of this Act to the Treasurer of the United States
and to the Secretary of Agriculture of the United States.

13. The assent of the State of Maryland is hereby given to the pur-
poses of the Grant made by said Act H. R. 157 of the second session of
the sixty-eighth Congress and the said University of Maryland Agricul-
tural Experiment Station, a department of the University of Maryland
is hereby designated as the institution entitled to receive the moneys appro-
priated for Maryland and the Treasurer of said institution is hereby desig-
nated as the proper person to receive the said appropriations.

14. The assent of the State of Maryland to the grants of money for
the purposes, upon the terms and in accordance with the conditions and
provisions contained in the said Act, is hereby signified and expressed
and the Secretary of State is hereby directed to transmit a certified copy
of this act to the Treasurer of the United States and to the Secretary of
Agriculture of the United States.

15. The Board of Regents of the University of Maryland shall have
power and authority to accept appropriations of money from the Federal
Government or any agency or agent thereof, made pursuant to the provi-
sions and purposes of the Act of Congress known as the Bankhead-Jones
Act of June 29th, 1935.
The assent of the General Assembly of Maryland is hereby given to
the receipt of such appropriations from the Federal Government under
the provisions and purposes of the said Bankhead-Jones Act of June 29th,
1935.

16. The Maryland State Fair Board, to be composed of nine members,
is hereby created. Said members shall be representative of all phases of
the agricultural interests of this State, shall serve without compensation
and shall be appointed by the Maryland Racing Commission. Upon the
appointment of the original members to said Board, the Racing Commis-
sion shall designate three of such members to serve for one year, three to
