An Code, 1924, sec. 1 1912, sec 1 1908, ch 161. 1916, ch. 391, sec. 1.

1. A commission is hereby established which shall be known under the
name and style of the "State Board of Agriculture" to consist of nine
persons, citizens of the State of Maryland, who shall be appointed by the
Governor, with the advice and consent of the Senate. The term of each of
the nine members shall be nine years and until his successor qualifies and
shall commence on the first Monday of June next ensuing his appointment;
except that of the members appointed by the Governor in the year 1916,
the Governor shall designate one to serve until the first Monday of June
1917, one to serve until the first Monday of June 1918, one to serve until
the first Monday of June 1919, one to serve until the first Monday of June

1 The act of 1916, ch 675, incorporates the Maryland Agricultural Society to foster
the development of the agricultural resources of Maryland
