issued may carry on the funeral directing business in the State of Mary-
land during the period therein specified; and any renewal of said license
shall set out the name of the person, co-partnership or corporation to whom
the same has been issued and the period for which it has been issued, and
no renewal of such license shall be assignable or transferable.

335. It shall be the duty of any person or persons now licensed to carry
on the profession of embalming dead human bodies in this State at the time
of the passage of this Act to cause within sixty days after the passage of this
Act, his, her or their name or names, residence or place of business, to be
registered with the State Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers of
Maryland, whose Secretary shall keep a book for that purpose, and upon
the payment of a fee of five dollars the Secretary of said Board shall enter
such registration in said book and said Board shall thereupon issue to
such person a license signed by the Secretary of said Board and bearing
the seal of the Board, which license shall entitle the holder thereof to prac-
tice the profession of embalming in the State of Maryland.

336. Before any person shall hereafter serve as an apprentice of a
licensed Funeral Director such person shall register as an apprentice of a
licensed Funeral Director with the State Board of Funeral Directors and
Embalmers of Maryland in such manner as the said Board may direct,
and shall renew said registration annually thereafter on or before the first
day of May in each year so long as he shall continue to serve as such
apprentice. Each such apprentice shall pay to said Board a fee of five
dollars for the original, and for each renewal registration.

337. Before any person or persons shall hereafter engage in the pro-
fession of embalming in this State, and before any person or persons now
so engaged in said profession of embalming in this State who shall fail
to register with said Board in accordance with Section 335 of. this Article,
shall continue to carry on said profession of embalming in this State, such
person or persons shall apply to said Board of Funeral Directors and Em-
balmers for a license to practice embalming; and such applicant or appli-
cants shall present himself or herself before said Board at the time and
place to be fixed by said Board, and if the Board shall find, upon due
examination and the payment of an examination fee of twenty-five dol-
lars, that the applicant or applicants are of good moral character, twenty-
one years of age and free from habits liable to interfere with the per-
formance of the duties which he or she desires to assume, that he or she has
had a high school education or the equivalent thereof, and that he or she is a
graduate from a regular recognized college of embalming whose course of
instruction is not less than six months, comprising eight hundred and forty
hours of study, and that said applicant has had two years of practical
experience as an apprentice with a licensed embalmer in this State and
