such prisoners as they may have available for such work, and to provide for
the guarding, transportation, lodging,'feeding, clothing and medical atten-
tion for all state convicts employed on road or bridge work, provided, that
the County Roads Board shall refund to the Board of Correction all ex-
penses of guarding, transporting and maintaining the state convicts when
said convicts have been furnished for road work at the request of said
County Roads Board; and when the State's convicts are employed in the
same convict road force as the convicts of the County requesting the Board
of Correction to furnish State convicts, then the Board of Correction shall
furnish at the expense of the County Roads Board all necessary guards
and the County Roads Board shall supply the lodging, feeding and medi-
cal attention as provided in Section 799.

801. Any convict escaping or attempting to escape shall on conviction
before a Justice of the Peace or before the Circuit Court of the County in
which the offense was committed or before the Criminal Court of Baltimore
City, be adjudged guilty of a misdemeanor and be sentenced to imprison-
ment in the institution to which he had been previously sentenced for a term
not less than three months nor for more than one-half of the entire term for
which he had been sentenced prior to his escape or effort to escape in the
discretion of the Court.

802. The County Roads Board using State convicts as .provided in
Section 800 of this Article are hereby authorized and directed to pay to the
Board of Correction ten (10) cents per day for each and every day .that each
and every State convict works upon the public roads or bridges as provided
herein, and the Board of Correction is hereby directed to hold such pay-
ments to the credit of each convict and pay the same over to him on his
release or in the discretion of the Board of Correction, one-half of the
amount to the credit of each convict may be paid to him, from time to time,
or the entire amount may be paid to the person to whom the convict may
direct payment to be made, or said payment may be made to the wife or
children or other person or persons, dependent upon said convict if found
to be in need by the said Board of Correction.

803. The Board of County Commissioners or other County Roads
Board of any County is hereby authorized and empowered to use such
moneys as may be appropriated for the construction of County or State
aid roads under its jurisdiction, and to apply sq much thereof as may be
necessary to the maintenance of the convict road force and to meet the
expense of materials and equipment for the use of same.

804. The State Roads Commission of Maryland may make application
to the Board of Correction, similar to the Boards of County Commissioners,
for a State Convict Road force for the construction and maintenance of
state roads, and be under the same requirements and conditions as are
herein set forth for the said Board of County Commissioners or other
County Roads Board of the State of Maryland.;
