House of Correction, not exceeding six months or by a fine not exceeding
five hundred dollars, or by both fine and imprisonment, as aforesaid, in
the discretion of the Court.

208. Any person, firm, corporation or association, who or which in a
newspaper, circular, or circular or form letter or other publication pub-
lished in this State willfully and knowingly makes or disseminates any
statement or asseveration of fact concerning the quality, the quantity, the
value, the method of production or manufacture or the reason for the price
of his or their merchandise or the manner or source of purchase of such
merchandise or the possession of awards, prizes, or distinction conferring
a gain of such merchandise, or the motive or purpose of a sale, intended
to give the appearance of an offer advantageous to the purchaser, which is
false and fraudulent, shall be guilty of misdemeanor.
Any person, firm, corporation or association or any employe thereof,
who violates any provision of this Section shall be liable to a fine of no
less than $25 nor more than $100 for each offense.

209. Any person, firm, corporation or association, who with intent to
sell or in any wise dispose of merchandise, securities, real estate, service,
or anything offered by such person, firm, corporation, or association directly
or indirectly, to the public for sale or distribution, or with intent to increase
the consumption thereof, or to induce the public in any manner to enter
into any obligation relating thereto, or to acquire title thereto, or any
interest therein, makes, publishes, disseminates, circulates, or places before
the public, or causes directly or indirectly to be made, published, dissemi-
nated, circulated, or placed before the public in this State, in a newspaper
or other publication or in the form of a book, notice, handbill, poster, bill,
circular, pamphlet, or letter, or in any other way, an advertisement, of
any sort regarding merchandise, securities, real estate, service or anything
so offered to the public which advertisement contains any assertion, repre-
sentation or statement of fact which is untrue, deceptive or misleading, and
which is known by such person, firm, corporation or association or which
by the exercise of reasonable care should be known by such person, firm or
corporation to be untrue, deceptive or misleading, or any person, firm or
corporation who causes to be published or distributed in any way whatso-
ever any advertisement offering to sell leasehold property at a stated price
or on terms stating the amount of any installment payments without also
stating in such advertisement the amount of the annual ground rent to
which the property offered is subject, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.

210. Any person, firm or association violating any of the provisions of
section 209, shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine of not
more than $1000.00, or by imprisonment of not more than one year or by
both fine and imprisonment, in the discretion of the Court. A corporation
convicted of any offense under the provisions of section 209 shall be fined
not more than $1000.00, and its president or such other officials as may
be responsible for the conduct and management thereof, shall be imprisoned
not more than one year in the discretion of the Court.
