a river from using such dividing river in common. All persons taking
or catching crabs under the provisions of this Article shall exhibit their
license for so doing when required by any officer of the oyster police force,
or other officers of the State. Non-residents of Maryland shall not be
permitted to catch crabs from the waters thereof for market. Residents
of Baltimore City may be licensed to catch crabs in Anne Arundel or
Baltimore Counties. And providing further that in all the waters of the
Chesapeake Bay lying near the mouth of the Patuxent River, viz: that
is to say, those waters above a line drawn at Cedar Point in St. Mary's
County to Cove Point in Calvert County, and below a line drawn from
Drum Point in Calvert County to Hog Point in St. Mary's County,
crabbing with a trot line is prohibited by any except bona fide residents
of the counties bordering on the Patuxent River.

1935, ch 480.

95A. It shall be unlawful for any person to take or 'catch soft shell
crabs in the waters of the Patuxent River by net or seine, other than net
or seine with handle attached, without first obtaining a license from the
Clerk of the Circuit Court in which ho resides and paying therefor the
sum of Twenty-five Dollars ($25. 00), which license shall be good for the
year of issuance only. All the other provisions of this sub-title as to the
taking of crabs, unless otherwise provided in this section, shall apply to
the taking of crabs by net and seine with handle attached. Any person
violating the provisions of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor
and, upon conviction thereof, shall be subject to a fine of not more than
Twenty-five Dollars ($25. 00) for each offense.

1929, ch. 471. sec 87.

96. Packers and Shippers Licenses. Any person desiring to engage
in the business of picking, canning or packing crabs in any way, or buy-
ing or marketing crabs, shall first obtain a license from the clerk of the
circuit court for the county in which he resides or does business, or from
the clerk of the Court of Common Pleas if he resides or does business in
Baltimore City, such license to be good for the year of issue only, and shall
pay the following fees: (1) For each person, firm or corporation en-
gaged in the business of picking, canning, packing or shipping cooked
hard or soft crabs or crab meat (except persons picking and selling crab
meat for local family trade), a license fee of $10; (2) for each person,
firm or corporation engaged in the business of selling, marketing or ship-
ping live hard or soft crabs by barrel or crate, a license fee of $5; pro-
vided that any person who is duly licensed to ship or pack crabs shall not
be required to procure further license.

97. Sponge Crabs. It shall be unlawful for any person to catch offer
