Montgomery County in equal monthly instalments and they shall not
receive any other compensation, emolument, pay or recompense of any
kind whatsoever for their services, including services rendered under Sec-
tion 202 of this Article. The Board of Supervisors of Elections of Mont-
gomery County may employ any member of the Bar of the Court of
Appeals of the State of Maryland, resident in Montgomery County who
shall be paid for his services the sum of six hundred dollars ($600. 00) per
annum, payable in equal monthly instalments and no other fees or com-
pensation whatsoever, and may also employ and appoint a clerk, who shall
be paid such salary as may be fixed by the Board of County Commissioners
of Montgomery County, but said Board of Supervisors of Elections shall
employ no other assistants or clerks of any kind whatsoever, except with
the approval of the Board of County Commissioners of Montgomery
County and at such compensation as may be fixed by the said Board of
County Commissioners.

6A. Each Board of Supervisors shall have the right and authority to
procure an official seal with which to authenticate the official papers and
documents of said Board.

7. The Board of Supervisors of Elections of the several counties may
have clerks, with the consent of the County Commissioners, for their
respective counties, at such compensation as the said County Commis-
sioners may fix. The Supervisors of Elections of the City of Baltimore
shall have a chief clerk at a salary of thirty-five hundred dollars ($3500),
one clerk at a salary of three thousand dollars ($3000), one clerk at a
salary of twenty-seven hundred and fifty dollars ($2, 750), two clerks at a
salary of twenty-two hundred dollars ($2200) each per annum, two clerks
at a salary of nineteen hundred dollars ($1900) each per annum, two
clerks at a salary of seventeen hundred dollars ($1700) each per annum,
three clerks at a salary of sixteen hundred dollars ($1600) each per an-
num, one carpenter at a salary of two thousand dollars per annum. The
said clerks, and in the City of Baltimore, the chief clerk, and clerks and
carpenter shall be appointed by the respective board of supervisors and shall
be removable by them in their discretion. In Baltimore City, the chief
clerk, with the approval of the supervisors, shall from time to time, secure
such temporary assistance as may be necessary for the proper transaction
of the business of the office, but the compensation of such assistants to be
paid by the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, upon requisition by the
said supervisors shall not exceed the sum of three thousand dollars,
($3. 000) in any one year. In Washington County, the Supervisors of
Elections shall appoint a clerk who shall receive an annual salary of not
less than four hundred and fifty dollars ($450. 00) per annum, which salary
