under attachment, execution, supplemental process and all other process;
and such salaries or any payment of the same shall not be subject to sale,
assignment or transfer by any beneficiary, and any such sale, assignment
or transfer of the same shall be absolutely void.

741. The terms "teachers" and "members of the teaching force of
Baltimore County," as used in this Act, shall mean and include any super-
intendent, principal, vice-principal, assistant superintendent, supervisors,
assistant supervisors, persons in charge of any special department of in-
struction and any teacher, instructor or clerk regularly employed as such
by the Board of County School Commissioners of Baltimore County or
the Board of District Trustees of the respective schools, or either of them,
or both, as the case may be.

742. The Sheriff of Baltimore County shall receive an annual salary
of three thousand dollars ($3,000.00) to be paid to him in monthly in-
stallments of two hundred and fifty dollars ($250.00) by the County
Commissioners of Baltimore County, and lie shall be allowed the sum of
nine thousand dollars ($9,000.00) annually to be paid to him by the said
County Commissioners in monthly installments, for the expenses of his
office, including clerk and the necessary deputies to assist in the discharge
of his duties, and he shall maintain out of said fund an automobile for
the more efficient service of writs and other business of the office, and he
shall be allowed the further sum of three hundred dollars ($300.00) annu-
ally for transferring prisoners to and from penal institutions and places
of confinement in the State of Maryland. He shall collect all fees and
charges to which he may be entitled by law and exercise all powers con-
ferred upon him by law to enforce the collection of the same, and shall
at the end of each month during his term of office make a sworn report
of the same to the County Commissioners of Baltimore County in such
form as said Commissioners may direct and pay over the same to the
Treasurer of Baltimore County upon the order of said Commissioners,
and whenever any sheriff shall retire from office, having uncollected any
costs, fees and charges lawfully payable to him, his successors shall collect
and pay over the same, and it shall be the duty of the sheriff to keep in
his office in such books as may be required an official record of the foes
and charges to be collected by him and those which shall have been col-
lected, and such books shall remain in his office after the expiration of his
term for the use of his successor.
