1920, ch. 163, sec. 216A. B. Co. C. (1928), sec. 241.

241. The County Commissioners of Baltimore County may at any
time remove any member or members in the Fire Department of Balti-
more County for any offense against law, or good morals, for neglect of
duty, for inefficiency, physical or mental disability or breach of discipline;
and only after written charges and a hearing upon due notice to the per-
son affected, at which hearing he shall have an opportunity to produce
evidence in his defense and the said County Commissioners of Baltimore
County may at such hearing in their discretion permit such person to be
represented by counsel and the decision of the County Commissioners of
Baltimore County upon any such hearing shall be final. Members of the
Fire Department or employees thereof shall serve until removed by the
Board of County Commissioners of Baltimore County, after a hearing,
as above provided or until their death, resignation or retirement. The>
County Commissioners of Baltimore County may punish any member or
employee of the Fire Department for any infraction of the rules or regu-
lations of such department or for insubordination or wilful neglect of
duty. The Chief Engineer of the Fire Department is exempt from the
provisions of this section.

1920, ch. 163, sec. 216B, B. Co. C. (1928), sec. 242.

242. The Board of County Commissioners of Baltimore County shall
be the trustees of the special fund hereafter mentioned. The Treasurer
of Baltimore County shall be the treasurer of the fund and he shall pay
over and account for all moneys and property which shall come to his
hands as such treasurer. Such trustees shall have charge of and admin-
ister such funds and from time to time invest the same or any part thereof
as they shall deem most beneficial and they are empowered to do all such
things as are reasonably incident to the full and complete discharge of
their duties under this act in reference to said fund. The said trustees
may and they are authorized and empowered from time to time to estab-
lish such rules and regulations for the disposition, investment, preserva-
tion and administration of the special fund as they may deem best.

243. The monies, securities and effects of the special fund and all
salaries granted and payable therefrom shall be and are exempt from
execution and from all process and proceedings to enjoin and recover the
same by or on behalf of any creditor or person having or asserting any
claims against or debt or liability to or against any sharer of said fund.
Any person who shall willfully swear falsely in any oath or affirmation
in obtaining or procuring any share or payment from said fund under
the provisions of this Act shall be guilty of perjury.
