114. Said clerk shall make or have made all such transcripts of the
land indexes and mortgage indexes in his office and of the equity dockets
and indexes to conform to the requirements of Sections 107 and 108 of
this Article as may from time to time be required, the same only to be
done on the written order of one of the judges of said court, and subject
to his approval.

115. Said clerk is further authorized and required, under the super-
vision of the judges of said court, to procure or have procured suitable
cases, of modern plans and styles, in which to file, or have filed, the law,
insolvent and miscellaneous papers in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit
Court for Baltimore County, and to make such changes in and additions
to the furniture and fixtures of said office, subject to the approval of the
judges aforesaid, as he shall from time to time deem necessary.

116. The expense incurred in the making up of said transcripts and
of procuring the necessary cases and of filing the said law, insolvent and
miscellaneous papers and the making of such changes in and addition to
the furniture and fixtures of said office shall be paid out of the surplus
revenue of the said Clerk of the Circuit Court for Baltimore County.

117. It shall be the duty of the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Balti-
more County to record all plats left with him to be recorded by transcrib-
ing and copying the same in books suitable for such purpose, which books
shall be made of drawing paper of good quality, and shall be substantially
bound, with proper index or indexes; said clerk shall cause all such plats
left with him for record to be actually recorded in said books by a person
skilled in such work and shall preserve the original of the same among
the records of said office.
The expense of recording such plats shall be taxed by him at the time
the same are left for record, and shall be paid by the party by whom said
plats shall be left for record.

118. The Clerk of the Circuit Court for Baltimore County is hereby
authorized and directed to produce suitable books made of drawing paper
of good quality and substantially bound, not less than 36 inches in length
by 24 inches in width, and said clerk shall employ a skilled surveyor, who
shall thereupon make true and accurate copies of all plats contained in
Plat Books Nos. 1, 2, 3 and 4, and in tubes filed in said office, in the
books so procured, and said clerk shall cause a full and complete index
or indexes to be made thereof, and shall file and preserve among the rec-
ords of his office all the original plats contained in said plat books and
