or contract shall thereby be rejected and void. Such election shall be con-
ducted in the same manner as that now provided for the election of Bur-
gess and Commissioners, where not inconsistent with this section.*

610. All ordinances heretofore passed by the said Burgess and Com-
missioners and now in force and not in conflict with the sub-title of this
article, are continued in force until the same are repealed or modified.

LEITERSBURG.

611. The citizens of Leitersburg, in Washington county, are a body
corporate by the name of "The Burgess and Commissioners of Leiters-
burg," and by that name may sue and be sued, and may have and use a
common seal.

612. The bounds of the town of Leitersburg shall be as follows: Com-
mencing at a poplar tree, on the road leading from Leitersburg to Smith-
burg, near a stable belonging to Jeremiah Slick; thence running with a
straight line to a stable near the house occupied by Daniel Lawmanson in
the year eighteen hundred and fifty-three; thence with a straight line to
a spring on or near a lot belonging to Nathan [McDowell, on the road
leading from Leitersburg to Green Castle; thence with a straight line to
a blacksmith shop occupied by G. W. Lautz in said year, belonging to
George Poe; thence with a straight line to the beginning.

613. The male citizens of Leitersburg, of the age of twenty-one years
and upwards, who have resided twelve months in said town next preced-
ing the election, shall elect by ballot, on the first Monday in April in each
year, a burgess, assistant burgess and three commissioners, of the age of not
less than twenty-one years, who shall have resided in said town twelve
months next preceding the election.

614. All elections shall be held and conducted as shall, from time to
time, be directed by the by-laws of the corporation, not inconsistent with
this charter.
