they shall be tried de novo, and all such appeals shall be taken in such
manner as is now provided for by law in other cases of appeals from
judgments of justices of the peace.

354. The several justices of the peace of Anne Arundel County, except
the justices of the peace appointed for the City of Annapolis, or Sixth
District, are required to account for and to pay over to the County Com-
missioners of said county, every three months, all the money or moneys
they may have on hand at such times, arising from fees or penalties im-
posed under the preceding sections; but, provided, if at any time the
amount of such fines or penalties shall exceed the sum of twenty dollars,
then such report must be made monthly, accompanied with the report of
the constable or constables serving process issued by such justice of the
peace.

355. The justices of the peace of the Sixth District of said county shall
at the first regular meeting of the County Commissioners held in each
month, make a report in writing verified under oath made before the clerk
of said Commissioners, of all criminal cases heard or tried before him
during the preceding month, which report shall state in each case the
name of the defendant, the offence charged, the name of the person upon
whose complaint the warrant was issued, the number of witnesses sum-
moned, the name of the officer serving warrant and summonses, the judg-
ment rendered, the amount of fine or penalty imposed, the amount of
costs taxed and the amount of fine, penalty and costs including constables'
fees which the said justices are hereby required to collect, shall at the
time of his making said report be paid to the order of said County Com-
missioners,; and said justices of the peace at the first meeting in every
month of the Mayor, Counselor and Aldermen of the City of Annapolis
shall also make a similar report, as hereinbefore provided of all cases
tried before them for offences committed under the Code of the City of
Annapolis, and shall pay over to the order of said Mayor, Counselor and
Aldermen all fines, penalties and forfeitures imposed and collected by
him for any violations of said City Code, and also all costs incurred in
such cases and collected, including constables' fees which the said justices
are hereby required to collect.

356. The justices of the peace (such reports of both constables and
justices of the peace shall be made under oath), of Anne Arundel County,
except the justices of the Sixth District and the police justice of the Fifth
Election District, shall be entitled to charge for their services in all crim-
inal cases tried or heard before them, the following fees, to wit: For issu-
ing each State writ, twenty-five cents; for summoning all the witnesses,
both sides, fifty cents; for each trial, one dollar; for every commitment,
