344. The justice of the peace appointed for the Sixth District of Anne
Arundel County before qualifying, as such, shall give bond to the State
of Maryland in a penalty of two thousand dollars with a surety, or sure-
ties, to be approved by the County Commissioners, conditioned that he
will well and faithfully execute the duties and obligations of the office of
justice of the peace and that he will account for and pay over to the
County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County all fines, penalties, for-
feitures and costs imposed by him and which he shall receive for, or on
account of criminal offences tried before him under the provisions of the
Code of Public General and Public Local Laws, and that he will account
for and pay over to the Mayor, Counselor and Aldermen of the City of
Annapolis, all fines, penalties, forfeitures and costs imposed by him and
which he shall receive for or account of criminal offenses tried before him
for violations of the Code of the City of Annapolis, and that he will well
and faithfully account for and pay over to the persons and corporations
entitled to the same, all moneys coming into his hands on account of col-
lections of small debts placed in his hands for collection or on judgments
recovered in civil actions. And the bond of the said justices shall be liable
at the suit of the State of Maryland for the use of the County Commis-
sioners of Anne Arundel County and of the Mayor, Counselor and Alder-
men of the City of Annapolis of any person or corporation entitled in
any default of said condition.

345. The County Commissioners for Anne Arundel County shall pro-
vide an office for one of the justices of the peace of the Sixth District of
said county, at the Court House, and the Mayor, Counselor and Alder-
men of the City of Annapolis, shall provide an office for the other justice
of the peace of said district, at the Assembly Rooms or City Hall, and
the said justices shall attend at their respective offices in the city of An-
napolis, each day (Sundays and legal holidays excepted) at least from
the hour of nine o'clock A. M., until the hour of three o'clock P. M., and
when notified by the State's Attorney of Anne Arundel County, or any
officer of the peace of said county, or by any police officer of the City of
Annapolis, of any criminal matter requiring prompt attention, the said
justices of the peace shall attend at their respective offices at such other
hours on every day or at night (Sunday and legal holidays included) as
the public interests may require; and neither of the said justices of the
peace shall absent himself from Annapolis without having first arranged
