444 ARTICLE 2.
eighteen thousand ($18,000.00) dollars, for the year 1929, and every
year thereafter including such additional amounts as may be necessary
for the purchase, maintenance and replacement reserve of fire fighting
equipment of volunteer fire companies of Anne Arundel County, includ-
ing the City of Annapolis, and such other volunteer fire companies as may
be created hereafter, by and with the consent of said County Commis-
sioners.

281. The County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County are hereby
authorized and empowered to pay the sum of two thousand ($2,000.00)
dollars annually to the several volunteer fire companies for the purchase,
maintenance and replacement reserve for fire fighting equipment. No
such payment shall be made unless the fire fighting apparatus is properly
equipped with the necessary fire fighting appliances for the protection of
the area in which they operate. No volunteer fire company shall receive
any payment under this Act, unless it is equipped with the fire alarm sys-
tem, approved by the County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County.

282. Said payments shall be made to the Treasurer of the several
volunteer fire companies ninety days after the tax levying period each
year.
1929, ch. 127, sec. 4.
283. The County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County are hereby
authorized and empowered, to pay the salaries of the chauffeurs of the
several volunteer fire companies from the road tax of the Election District
in which said volunteer fire company is located; the salary of each chaf-
feur not to exceed one hundred ($100.00) dollars per month, payable
monthly. The chauffeurs of the several volunteer fire companies shall be
appointed and/or dismissed by the County Commissioners of Anne Arun-
del County, upon the recommendation of the said volunteer fire companies.
This section shall not apply to the City of Annapolis.
1929, ch. 127, sec. 5.
284. Every volunteer fire company affected by this Act shall make
an annual financial report to the County Commissioners of Anne Arundel
County on or before May 1st, of each year; failure to comply with this
section of this Act shall exclude any volunteer fire company from the bene-
fits of this Act.
1929, ch. 127, sec. 6.
285. The County Commissioners are hereby authorized and empow-
ered to provide such additional sums of money (not to exceed $2,000.00
per company) as may be necessary from time to time for the purchase,
maintenance and replacement reserve of such additional volunteer fire
