ticing member of the bar of Anne Arundel County to act as general coun-
sel for said board, and for the officers of registration and judges of elec-
tion, appointed by them, in all matters and proceedings pertaining to
their duties and to appear for and defend said Board of Supervisors,
officers of registration and judges of election at the hearing of all peti-
tions and suits which may be filed or brought for or against them under
the provisions of Article 33 of the Code of Public General Laws of
Maryland, title "Elections," or involving their rights and duties there-
under. For his services as such general counsel he shall receive an an-
nual salary of four hundred dollars, to be paid in equal quarterly install-
ments by the County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County, and he
shall not receive any other compensation, emolument, pay, fee, appearance
fee or recompense of any kind whatsoever.

And no attorney's fee shall be taxed as a part of the costs in any such
cases. He may be removed and other counsel may be appointed in his
place for the same purposes and with the same salary at the discretion of
said board.

FARM LABOR.

1912, ch. 682. 1914 Code, sec. 296.

269. All employers of farm labor in Anne Arundel County who own,
or are the tenants of, premises whereon are located dwelling houses
occupied by their employees paid by the day, week or month, with the
use of said dwelling house or houses as a part of their compensation, shall
have the right to the restitution of their said dwelling house or houses or
other buildings whenever any of their said employees shall for any reason
leave their employ or be discharged, and the said employers shall have the
right to re-enter and take possession of their said premises; provided that
before doing so, said employers shall give to their said former employees
three days' previous notice in writing as to their intention or desire to
regain possession of said premises in cases of laborers employed by the
day; and one week's notice where employed by the week; and one month's,
notice where employed by the month.

270. All fences constructed upon or near the dividing line or lines of
tracts of land belonging to different proprietors, and intended to enclose
the separate farms of such proprietors, in Anne Arundel County, who
have agreed or may agree to join in making the same, if made of posts
and rails, shall be at least four feet high from the surface of the ground,
of good material, the average distance between the lower rails not to ex-
ceed four inches; all worm division fences to be made of good and sub-
stantial rails, staked and ridered, and at least five feet high from the
surface of the ground to the top of the upper rail.
