4328 ARTICLE 19.

within the limits of "The Commissioners of Leonardtown," not exceeding
ten days... And all fines and forfeitures imposed by the said Commission-
ers, by virtue of any law or ordinance, shall be applied in such manner
for the use of said village, as may from time to time be directed by ordi-
nance.

110. All ordinances and by-laws heretofore passed by "The Commis-
sioners of the Village of Leonardtown," and now in. force and not in con-
flict with the provisions of this charter, shall be valid and remain in force
until the same are repealed, amended or modified by "The Commissioners
of Leonardtown"; and all Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland,
heretofore passed, relating to or in any way affecting "The Commission-
ers of the Village of Leonardtown," and not inconsistent with the provi-
sions of this Act, shall remain in force and effect for "The Commissioners
of Leonardtown" in the same manner and to the same extent and purpose
as if said Act or Acts were now repealed and re-enacted so as to read in
lieu of the words "The Commissioners of the Village of Leonardtown,"
the words, "The Commissioners of Leonardtown."

111. A majority of "The Commissioners of Leonardtown" shall con-
stitute a quorum for the transaction of business, and in the absence of
the president of their Board, the Commissioners present may appoint a
member president pro tem., who shall have all the powers and privileges,
find be subject to all the rules and regulations prescribed for the president.

112. "The Commissioners of Leonardtown" shall receive no compen-
sation for their services.

113. "The Commissioners of Leonardtown" shall issue no device,
token, note, certificate or evidence of debt to be used as currency.

114. It shall be the duty of the County Commissioners of St. Mary's
county to pay annually to the Commissioners of the village of Leonard-
town the amount of the road tax levied or taxed upon property within
the limits of said corporation, to be appropriated and used by them for
the repair and improvement of the roads within said corporate limits.

115. The Commissioners of Leonardtown are hereby authorized and
empowered to build and construct a water supply system, for the town
