indictment or proceeding may be amended at any stage of the proceedings
before final judgment as a matter of right.

286. It shall not be lawful for any person or body corporate, to sell
spirituous or fermented liquors in districts numbers one and four of said
county; or intoxicating or alcoholic bitters in district number four of said
county; and if any person or body corporate shall be guilty of a violation
of this section, he or they shall, on conviction thereof, be fined in a sum
of not more than three hundred dollars nor less than fifty dollars for every
such offence, in the discretion of the circuit court.

287. The terms and provisions of said Acts* of Assembly are hereby
amended, enlarged and extended so as to embrace and include therein the
prohibition of the sale of intoxicating liquors of any origin whatever, and
of intoxicating or alcoholic bitters and of all kinds of cider, so far as the
said Act relates to the fourth election district of Queen Anne's County
as fully and as amply as if the same had been embraced, included, men-
tioned, and particularly described in Section one of said Act as originally
passed, and as if the same had been included in the said Act as amended,
and as if the same had been adopted by a majority of the legal voters of
said district, and had been proclaimed as the law thereof by the Judges
of the Circuit Court for Queen Anne's County, and that prosecutions and
penalties provided in Sections two and three of the original acts of eighteen
hundred and seventy-four, Chapter four hundred and fifty-three are hereby
extended and made applicable to any violations of the terms and provi-
sions of said law as amended, enlarged and extended by this amendatory
Act.

pany or association to sell, directly or indirectly, at any place, or to give
away at his or their place of business, within the limits of any of election
districts numbers two, three, six and seven, any spirituous, fermented or
intoxicating liquors of any origin whatever, or alcoholic bitters.

289. Any person, house, company, association or body corporate, who
shall sell, directly or indirectly, at any place, or give away at his or their

tricts numbers two, three, six and seven, shall, on conviction thereof, for-
feit and pay on the first conviction a fine of not less than fifty dollars nor
more than three hundred dollars, and costs of prosecution, and be impris-
