which shall include all expenses in connection with the duties of his office
and the maintenance thereof and he shall receive no other fees or com-
pensation of any other kind, nature or description in connection with his
office. One-half of his salary shall be paid by the Town of Takoma Park,
Maryland, from its general revenues and the remaining one-half shall be
paid by the County Commissioners of Montgomery County; and the said
County Commissioners of Montgomery County are hereby authorized,
empowered and directed to include in their next annual levy on all the
assessable property in Montgomery County, and each succeeding levy, an
amount necessary to pay the said portion of the salary of the said Justice
so to be paid by the County Commissioners of Montgomery County.*
POPLAR AVENUE.
1918, ch. 447, sec. 1.
974. On and after the 15th day of June, 1918, the Mayor and Com-
mon Council of the Town of Takoma Park, in Prince George's and Mont-
gomery Counties, are hereby authorized, empowered and directed to take
over, maintain, keep in repair and open for public travel the road known
as that part of Poplar avenue which runs through Block No. 16 of said
Town, and which connects Poplar avenue, as now laid out in said Town
at its intersection with Elm avenue, with Park avenue, now known as the
Ray road in Prince George's County. The metes and bounds of said road
in Block No. 16 being as follows : Beginning at a point where the westerly
line of Park avenue or the Railroad intersects the southerly line of the
said Block No. 16, and running thence North 42 degrees 28 minutes West,
173.4 feet; thence North 17 degrees 29 minutes West 92.6 feet to the
South side of Elm avenue; thence North 86 degrees East 41.13 feet;
thence South 17 degrees 29 minutes East 73 feet; thence South 42 degrees
28 minutes East 1932 feet to the Southerly line of said Block No. 16,
and thence with said line to the place of beginning.

975. The Mayor and Common Council of the said Town of Takoma
Park are hereby authorized, empowered and directed at their next levy
following the passage of this Act and every year thereafter to levy a suffi-
cient sum of money to take over, maintain, repair and keep open for public
travel the road hereinbefore described, which said levy shall be made as
the levy is now made in said Town for the opening, repair and mainte-
nance of streets, avenues and highways of said Town.

976. The Mayor and Common Council of the said Town of Takoma
Park are hereby invested with such authority and power as may be neces-
sary for the taking over, repair and maintenance of the road hereinbefore
described.
