3992 ARTICLE 17.

the center line of Bunker Hill Road, and on the southwest the District of
Columbia.

Third Ward: The third ward shall consist of Mount Rainier sub-
division and the boundaries thereof shall be on the east the center of Cedar
Lane north to a point opposite the dividing line between Mount Rainier
and Brentwood, then across Cedar Lane to the east right of way thereof
and the east right of way of 'Cedar Lane, the south side of Dewey Street,
the east side of Thirty-fourth Street; on the north the northwestern right
of way of Grape Street; on the west the dividing line between Mount
Rainier Sub-division and Rogers' First Addition to Mount Rainier; and
on the south the center of Bunker Hill Road.

Fourth Ward: The fourth ward shall consist of Rogers' First Addi-
tion to Mount Rainier, and the boundaries thereof shall be, on the north
the northwestern right of way of Grape Street; on the west the western
boundary of Rogers' First Addition to Mount Rainier, and the District
of Columbia; on the south the center of the Bunker Hill Road; and on
the east the dividing line between Mount Rainier and Rogers' Addition to
Mount Rainier.

GOVERNMENT.

1916, ch. 200, sec. 4.

757. The government of said town shall be vested in a Mayor and four
Councilmen, the latter to be resident one in each of the four wards of the
said town, and the said Mayor and Councilmen to be elected as herein-
after provided.

MAYOR.

1916, ch. 200, sec. 5.

758. The Mayor of said town shall be a legal voter of said town at the
time of his election, a resident in said town for at least two years next pre-
ceding the date of his election, and the owner of real estate in said town
in his own name to the assessed value of at least five hundred dollars at
the time of his election. The Mayor shall hold office for two years and
until the qualification of his successor; but in case he shall permanently
remove his residence from said town, or shall cease to own real estate to
the assessed value of five hundred dollars, he shall immediately cease to
be Mayor, and there shall exist a vacancy in said office to be filled as here-
inafter provided. The Mayor shall not during his term of office either
hold or be pecuniarily interested in any other office under the Mayor and
Common Council of Mount Rainier, nor shall he be a party directly or
indirectly in any contract to which said corporation is a party; the ac-
ceptance of, or the continuance to hold such an office, or the making or
becoming interested in such contract shall immediately disqualify any
Mayor and there shall thereupon exist a vacancy in the office of Mayor to
be filled as hereinafter provided. The Mayor shall receive no salary.
